Is IUI right for you?

While IUI isn’t the right approach for everyone, it may be considered for:

  • Individuals or couples using frozen donor sperm
  • Patients unable to have intercourse
  • Patients with mild sperm abnormalities

IUI is generally not recommended for people with blocked tubes or moderate to severe male factor, low sperm count or motility, or age-related factors where more advanced techniques (like IVF) may offer higher success rates.

What to expect with IUI

  • Track Your Cycle and Pinpoint Ovulation Timing

    We monitor your natural cycle or use medication to stimulate the ovaries and help time insemination at the peak fertile window, giving the sperm the best chance to reach the egg.

  • Prepare and Place the Sperm

    Sperm is washed and concentrated in the lab, then placed directly into the uterus during a quick, in-office procedure similar to a Pap test. No anesthesia is required.

  • Take a Pregnancy Test

    Two weeks after the IUI, you’ll return for a simple blood test (HCG level) to check for pregnancy and see if we’ve made it one step closer to building your family.
